Cairns North Community Health Facility

Joint Venture Consultancy with Daryl Jackson Architecture and McConnel Smith Johnson.

As a welcoming, accessible and tropically responsive building, this facility provides an easily identifiable home for a range of public health services.

The design provides a healthy environment with good indoor air quality, safety, security and accessibility. Tenancy planning provides natural, light-filled and life affirming spaces with a strong connection to the surrounding environment.

The breezeway entry spine provides an elegant and intuitive public entry point, as well as capturing light and breezes for public waiting areas.

The interior colour palette uses cooling, refreshing and calming colours of local melaleuca and mangroves forests, while the memorable red exterior columns identify the building and reference the Red Cross as a key tenant.
